A NEW face is set to join Ledbury Town Council, following the resignation of former Councillor Chris Treanor.
Ewen Sinclair, who has been at the forefront of a campaign to have the town’s War Memorial properly restored, ran unopposed for the post.
Town Clerk Angela Price said: “This is following the resignation of former Councillor Chris Treanor, following which ten signatures were received by Herefordshire Council to invite nominations for candidates for a by election.
“Subsequently there was just the one nomination and as a result there was no requirement to hold the by-election and Mr Sinclair is now formally elected as a councillor to Ledbury Town Council.”
Among the first dates in Coun Sinclair's civic diary will be a Town Council Meeting next Thursday, October 21, to discuss the issue of the War Memorial.
