Ledbury residents should hear a single tolling bell every evening at 6pm, in response to the Covid pandemic.
Last night it was heard for more than 30 minutes, and most evenings from now on will be the same in this respect.
Bellringers at St Michael and All Angel's Church have formed a rota to ensure the bell keeps ringing, following instructions from up high.
Tower Captain, Tim Keyes said: "Yes indeed. The Archbishops have called the nation to prayer in relation to the pandemic and churches have been asked to ring a bell at 6pm each evening to mark this.
"The Ledbury bellringers have established a rota with a number of different people taking part. It is also a useful way for us to keep the bellringing muscles in trim, although we are not allowed to ring more than one bell!"
