A LORRY has closed part of a major motorway after catching fire.
Police say the M50 is closed towards the M5 Junction 3 Newent to Junction 2 Ledbury because of the fire.
An eye witness who is at the scene says the fire has been raging for over half an hour and traffic is backing up.
A spokesman for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said four fire engines are on scene dealing with a lorry which is "well alight".
A fire engine from Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service is also at the scene.
Roads near to the motorway, including the A449 are congested as traffic is diverted away from the closure.
