A SHORT act of remembrance for the 75th anniversary of D-Day will be held at Ledbury's war memorial at 7pm on Thursday, June 6.
It has been organised by the Ledbury branch of the Royal British Legion and among those being remembered will be Cyril King from Ledbury who landed in Normandy on June 6, 1944, but who died there on June 14.
In attendance will be deputy lord lieutenant of Herefordshire, Colonel Andy Taylor and town mayor, Phillip Howells as well as descendants of those from Ledbury whose names appear on the war memorial.
The names of all those from Ledbury who died in the Second World War will be read and there will be a chance to plant sprigs of rosemary for remembrance.
