SEVERAL national, regional and local retailers have expressed an interest in taking over the vacant Woolworths store in Ledbury.
The store closed in December 2008 and the premises have been up for let through chartered surveyors John Goodwin since April.
The shop is one of the largest in Ledbury, and an asking rent of £47,500 a year has been set by the London-based property company that owns the premises.
John Goodwin said there had been a reasonable amount of interest in the site, exclusively from retailers.
“There have been some proposals and ideas put forward to the owners for their consideration,” he said. “As yet that has not resulted in terms being agreed with anybody.
“But there have been a number of enquiries and that is encouraging.”
